We maintain quality control over our production with stringent measures
that guarantee the same quality adobe brick and mortar each
time regardless of the weather. Our mud adobe is so stable
we invite customers to put samples into the "deep end"
of their pool indefinitely. Our architect's specifications
feature a wet patina test unique
to our product which is a vigorous rubbing of the face of the block
after a 24 hour submersion.
Here's how we do it.
- We control our own clay supply with a BLM mineral use contract.
- We use only virgin material we have personally inspected and
excavated from our OUM pit. This guarantees we never have
unknown variations in the raw material delivered to our process
from other material suppliers.
- We select Portland cement as our stabilizer.
- We use a very large pug mill to blend every batch thoroughly.
- Our proprietary mix additives insure the mud we produce is blended
with ingredients that increase strength. After years of
experimenting we know which ones work best.

- Our proprietary "laydown machine" is the only one
of it's kind in the world. It performs the process of filling,
screening and slipping the forms with precision. Our crew
maintains the laydown machine in perfect working order and cleans
it well after each use. The uniform outer dimensions of
the adobe face block is accented with superb texture in the walls.
- Our curing process sets the cement under thermal tarps and allows
us to produce adobe brick year round. The compression reports
from the lab prove we have mastered the art of year round quality
control.
- We are always looking to improve our product. Our most
recent major change is the introduction of plastic pallet sheets
into our production process. The plastic pallet sheets
allow us to pour each course on top of the pallet and the customer
can easily separate the brick with a clean top and bottom for
mortar adhesion. We charge plastic sheet deposits. We
leave mud contact on two sides of the roman pallets for safety
during shipping.
